Today at school

Today at school I wore my Fred and Ginger things. My "Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did except backwards and in high heels" T-shirt, one of my Fred and Ginger buttons, and of course F and G earrings. I wanted to wear these today, and I got TONS of comments at school.

In art, my table noticed the earrings and said they were cute with the faces. Then in science I had a girl ask me, "Who's Fred and Ginger?". I showed her that my shirt matched the people on the earrings and button, and then her friend noticed them and liked them a lot.The thing is, once when my science teacher came in, she yelled out "Hey Mrs. Drom! Look at her earrings!" Mrs. Drom then looked and said, "Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers!". After that class, my english teacher said my earrings looked very cute, and then my U.S. History teacher absolutely LOVED them! After class I came over to her and showed her my F and G stuff. She was sooooo interested in them that she even asked me where I got all of it at! (My U.S. History teacher is such a classic movie fan, it's not even funny!!!!!)

Then my last class which is theatre I got a few comments on my shirt, earrings, and button. But, it's just funny how all the kids don't even have a clue on who Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are. They say "Oh that looks so cute!", but don't know who they really are. And then all my teachers know who F and G are. Just very interesting today at school!

Illusions

I know this may be off topic, but this is so cool!!!
I found this on yahoo news. Someone was sharing some pictures with Illusions.
I didn't save the pics from the article, so I went to Flickr.com which is where they were, and just found the ones that were in the article. I'll just share these with you too!!! : D

If you stare at the middle closely, the red rings will look like they're rotating.
Stare in the middle, and the rest of the picture looks like it's moving.
Stare in the center, and the whole picture will start flickering.
This one is the best. Just stare at the picture, and the leaves will look like they're all moving in a wave!!! : D

My love for the Classics

Before I ever saw the classic films, I liked tons of people from today, the music, etc. When my mom showed me Breakfast at Tiffany's, I thought it was awesome! That was when my love for classics began. I started looking into it more and more. I soon started watching Audrey Hepburn's films, and I loved them so much. I also saw The Birds and it was such a fantastic, suspenseful film! Alfred Hitchcock's films let me see other actors of that time. Back then, I never heard of Cary Grant, James Stewart, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly, Joseph Cotten, Teresa Wright, and many more that were in his films. I loved them all. I started then watching movies of those actors, which also led me know about other ones, like Marilyn Monroe, Bette Davis, Rita Hayworth, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, William Powell, Sophia Loren, Natalie Wood. Then I started listening to old music, like big bands, rock and roll, mostly the music they had back in those days. I started getting away from what I used to like, and this was becoming my new hobby. Then I got into Fred and Ginger, which are wonderful dancers!!! And after that I became a Ginger Rogers fan. Now I appreciate the old days and their films. Personally, I think today's stars are lame. No class, and it's not the same anymore. At least back then they really knew how to "act" unlike today. I say "Hooray for Classic Hollywood!!!" : )

Welcome

Welcome to my blog! I have joined blogspot so I can share things about Ginger Rogers, or maybe other Classic Hollywood things. Besides Ginger Rogers, I love so many other people. But how I became a huge fan was all because of my mom. We were watching So You Think You Can Dance. And saw a couple dancing to swing music. My mom said to me that they reminded her of Fred and Ginger. Of course then I didn't know who any of them were, so I asked her. My mom told me Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were one of the greatest dancers back in the 30's. Then I questioned her if they made any films together. Luckily, my mom had some DVDs of their movies, and she gave them to me. Later that night, I decided to watch one of the films. The very first one I saw was Swing Time. Once I saw Ginger make her entrance, I became a huge fan. When they danced their first dance in the film,(Which is Pick Yourself Up) I saw Fred and Ginger dance for the first time. Throughout the whole movie, I was agape at Ginger's dresses. They were very pretty and cute. Then I stayed up longer and watched Shall We Dance. I thought that was a magnificent film as well. But I just loved her dresses in that film. After watching Top Hat and Follow the Fleet. I wanted to know more about this actress. Although then I didn't know what Ginger's name was, so I had to look at a DVD box. As I read about her, I became interested in Ginger Rogers. After that, I finished watching all the Fred and Ginger films, and started watching films of Ginger. I figured out she wrote an autobiography, so I made my mom buy it. Her book was fantastic after I finished it. Ginger; My Story has become one of my favorite books. Ginger Rogers is THE BEST!!!
