Ginger Rogers passed away 16 years ago. She is greatly remembered doing movies with Fred Astaire by ordinary people, but to us "Gingerologists" she was more than just a dancer. To remember her I will at least watch a movie, eat one of her favorite foods, Ice cream, and wear my Ginger Rogers T-shirt. :)

ReplyDeletewell, quite a few days (or weeks) late with this, but thanks for all the awesome pics, GF11! I just can't figure out where you FIND all of these...I don;t have half of them...the last one is just insanely beautiful...that whole photo shoot may well be my fave of hers EVAH... and the second pic with her holdingthe camera...have that one, but...I was watching TCM the other day, and during one of the intros they do 'in studio', they had a BIG poster pic of that one in the background...awesome!
ReplyDeleteAnd the one with Burgess Meredith is cool... I guess if I had to pick a role opposite Ginger, his in TD&H is right up there...if you don't know why, go watch it... you'll figure it out :) (I would have just passed out in the 'porch' scene with her...) :-p
But yes, 4/25 is very sad every year, of course...and NOW, 4/27 will always be 'the day my town was literally cut in half'...so yeah, the last week of April isn't on Huey's 'like' list, y'all...nor will it ever, it appears...
...oh well...hey, looking forward to 7/16/11, y'all... this weekend will hopefully be able to get G-ology back on track in this Gingertennial!
