My Ginger Rogers Website

I have made this website five months ago. Some people have seen it and said it's really good. I'm glad!!! I usually update the section where it has the next showings on TCM. I'll be updating that section at the end of October. Here's the link :http://herolink7.tripod.com/
To Jwalker: You will find some "killer" pictures on my website.

Oh on my theatre project we got into groups and started working on my script. Tonight though, me and my mom went to Hobby Lobby. Looked around and then got the fabric for my cape,(part of theatre project)and we went to the section that had different signs. I was talking to my mom and all of a sudden I glanced and saw "Remember, Ginger Rogers" then I looked at it and found the saying "Remember, Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in High heels." I was shocked finding that there, so I got my mom to buy it. Somehow I need to find a space to put on my wall.... I have a lot of classic movie stars on my bedroom walls. If only I could find a place...............

  1. Woah...now that is pretty cool about the sign deal! Really a bit weird, like it was from VKM herself, to give you encouragement on the project...well, probably not, but a weird coincidence, at least! ...anyway, that sign is one I would find room for!

and, of course, the website is KILLER! heh heh...probably need to find another phrase...I AM a child of the 70's...
Some amazing photos there... Thanks for the link!!! I really think some of us should offer to take over the 'official' Ginger site, which has not posted anything in almost a year!

  3. AHAHA I laughed about your note to jwalker!!!!!
Where are your bell bottoms, Huey?

Neat find!! Even though that phrase always irks me, it's cool that you found a Gingerous souvenir!

  4. ...actually I was born on June 30, 1967, the Summer of Love... I was one of those little neckid babies running around at Woodstock... and yes, that is the correct spelling, 'neckid'...as the old Southern humor columnist Lewis Grizzard explained, "the difference between being 'naked' and 'neckid' is this: when one is 'naked', they have no clothes on; when one is 'neckid', they have no clothes on AND they are up to something!" :-]

BTW, what phrase 'irks' the Queen Sneaky Fiend? "Neat find"? that's not bad...I've heard worse phrases...like, at the end of the day, it is what it is.

  5. No, the Ginger did everything Fred did except blah blah. That's the phrase I'm talking about.

  6. Oh... hmmm... why is that? I really think it is cool... and Ginger liked it, so, there you go! It IS a bit 'unwieldy' as a phrase, but I think it describes her situation well, the 'big' picture is she had to fight for everything she got in male-dominated Hollywood! (being a guy myself, I honestly pretty much hate guys...) And to do that, she had to basically prove she was equal (if not better) to her co-stars... I like Ed Ev Horton, but when he was pulling down mucho more $$$ per GandF movie than Ginger for the same movie? That had to be remedied... there's a reason I say 'G&F' instead of 'F&G'...she is OWED it, baby!!! ...ok, off the soapbox... woah, that was quite a rant....got my Irish up! well, BTW, Lauren - this is NOT directed at you! Just wanted to get my thoughts out about the 'Ginger Inequality' issue...

  7. "Just wanted to get my thoughts out about the 'Ginger Inequality' issue..."
That's okay, I understand/agree, I just am tired of hearing the phrase itself. Once, okay. Twice, still okay. Thrice, we're teetering. 20 Million Times... nothing Sweethearted about that.

It's just as upsetting as that Marlene Dietrich and Anna May Wong were co-stars in Shanghai Express, yet Marlene made over 10x as much money as did Anna May.

But you know, Ginger overall did enjoy herself, and though the money issue could have bothered her a bit, she isn't the type of person that would let that get in the way.

  8. Well, point taken, and pretty much agree (although I still like it...:-) ...glad I didn't use this quote for my blog title - I originally gave it SERIOUS thought! but then G-ology ephipinized...yes, that is DEFINITELY a word...works good for Scrabble - big points!)...maybe we need to delve into other 'sayings' she had... overall, I am not a major 'quote' person, and when I do find one, it is usually pretty 'obscure'...

  9. My favourite quote of hers is on my YouTube page. I took it out of an article where she was just talking.

  12. To Jwalker:
Maybe that's true on what you said, but it could be that the sign was just there and I happened to see it. Thanks on my website!!!!

    To Maria:Thanks!!!! :D

To Lauren:Really? I didn't know that. Haha, ya I put that because I knew he would call the pics "killer" pictures. Ya it was neat that I found something like that at some fabric store!

  13. Well, it's still cool you got it, any irony notwithstanding - we have some Hobby Lobbies around my neck of the woods, so I might go see if I could find one of them, too! If I do, I will actually buy two, and send one to Lauren for Christmas!!! (I am probably going to regret saying that, but couldn't help it... :-) )

Hey... Maybe a blog should be started entitled, "Killer Ginger Blog"... KGB for short... :-)

  14. Huey how many blogs are you going to have? And more initials, KGB, I see.

Well excitement for Christmas trumps that phrase so you're safe for now. And I could always paste my own phrase over it. :D

  15. ...hey...I am big on the acronym stuff...it's a calling - it's a 'gift'.

BTW... why was I wanting to start another Ginger blog? Must have been when i was fritzed out late at night... Not that we can ever have too MANY Ginger blogs, but... if I can just keep up with 'G-ology', that's an accomplishment...
